Letters From Chesterfield . . . Greetings Cards by Andy Rodgers
When some years ago I found myself spotting letters of the alphabet in physical features of things in Chesterfield town centre - the end of a fence, the shape of a window and so on - I thought it might be an interesting idea to see if I could find enough of them to spell out the name of the town itself. So I went round town with my camera for a few days, needing to be a bit creative in parts, and here you see the results.
I use the resulting images to make greetings cards, which I call “Letters From Chesterfield”, with each background being a memorable scene in the town, and the letters in the foreground spelling out the name.
The cards depict five different views of Chesterfield, and on the back of each card are descriptions of where all the letters were photographed. See if you can spot where they are!
Each card (at 7” x 5”, and blank inside) is presented with an envelope and supplied in a protective cellophane packet. Cards are £2-50 each, or £11 for a set of all five. If reasonably local I can readily deliver, or if further afield there would be a little extra for postage.
