Artist Statement
My work is drawn from my experience of landscape, walking and sketching directly before returning to the studio to explore further. I don’t choose to try to reproduce what I have seen, rather to capture the feeling.I work in oils,in layers, adding and subtracting which gives time for reflection. The intention is to distil the essence and create a timeless sense of place.
