Artist Statement
Light, colour, patterns and texture are the foci of my work, my camera a journal.
Countryside walks, the changing experiences of light and seasons inspire my art journey.
Acrylic paint is currently my media of expression. I enjoy the effects of layering colour, aiming to capture the colours created by light, whether observed, suggested, or to create excitement (contrast) or unity in a painting. Selecting parts of photos to inspire my painting, I look for beauty of form, texture and pattern sometimes focusing in on the seemingly simple, from a leaf, rock or bird, to paintng wider landscape views.
