Artist Statement
As an artist I like to explore the interaction of colours in the landscape. The abstract nature and unpredictable shapes and colours in my work allows individuals to interpret and make sense of how they experience the world around them. Every painting has a special meaning to me but more importantly I enjoy hearing viewers' interpretation of what the painting means to them. Everyone sees something different and this personal interpretation builds a powerful connection to my art.
My studio is in the beautiful spa town of Buxton and, together with the dramatic landscapes of the Peak District, provides inspiration for my work.
I have a degree in fine art from Manchester Metropolitan University and I have lived in Finland, Cameroon and South Africa.
