Artist Statement
Rebecca Webster-Lajmi originates from Castleton in the Peak District and now resides in Buxton. She balances her artistic endeavours, painting and exhibiting along with being a full time mum of three.
From 2000-2003 Rebecca studied for a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, Painting and Drawing at the University of Huddersfied. In 2005 she gained a PGCE in Secondary Education, in Art at Manchester Metropolitan University.
She creates botanical watercolour paintings which feature, flowers, seed heads, leaves, fruit and berries. Rebecca adores paintings lupins, hyacinths, daffodils and fuchsia's and they feature repeatedly in her work.
Rebecca is a member of the Northern Society of Botanical Art (NSBA). She adores creating watercolour paintings of botanical subject matter. Her work often feature flowers, seed heads, leaves, fruit and berries. Rebecca draws inspiration from lupins, hyacinths, daffodils and fuchsia's.
Previous Exhibitions include "Fresh and Unframed" with Purple and Grey in Tansley, Matlock. The Artists and Designers Fair, Buxton. The Leabrooks Gallery in Alfreton. Also the Nicholson Gallery and the Foxlowe Gallery in Leek. The Silk Museum in Macclesfield. Also the "Art in the Garden" event at the Botanical Gardens in Sheffield and "The Great Sheffield Art show".
