Artist Statement

Karl Wood is a self-taught photographer with an eye for unique compositions. Situated in the heart of the stunning Peak District, his work includes beautiful landscapes and amazing animal portraits. 

He also has a passion for photographing the contrasting surroundings of cities, his nearest city being Manchester. His street photography focuses mainly on interesting looking people, often passing an unusual background and unaware of his lens.

With the popularity of digital photography on the rise, Karl has gone back in time to explore the fine art of film photography. He has a large collection of old cameras which he enjoys experimenting with. 

Karl offers unique days out, shooting film with old 35mm or medium format cameras, and workshopping developing techniques.
