Artist Statement

ADRIAN HOLT: Hand-built sculptural ceramics, many designed for wall display. Work includes masks, bugs, pots, tiles and abstract pieces. I am particularly interested in texture and surface decoration often using lava and lichen glazes to produce unusual finishes. I also make sculptures from plaster using found objects and discarded items e.g. bubble wrap, containers and trays. https://facebook.com/adrianholtceramics/posts

CHRIS TAYLOR: After graduating from Liverpool School of Art with a Diploma in Art and Design, I worked in animation for the next 40 years. Following retirement, I had time to indulge my long-standing interest in calligraphy which has now become a full-time hobby, creating artworks featuring the natural world in a variety of styles and media.

DENISE HEYWOOD: Inspired by the scenery and hedgerows on my walks through the countryside around Glossop. Painting in a semi abstract style in watercolour to capture colour, light and design. I worked as a graphic designer and animator during my working life. Now retired, I’m enjoying painting in watercolour. https://www.facebook.com/GlossopArtist/

DAVE TOFT: My photography is about travelling, the journey and the destination. Travelling reveals great beauty in strange and exotic landscapes and architecture – and in people living their day to day lives in different cultures and societies. Yet despite everything that divides us, people everywhere share more in their common, caring humanity than ever separates us.

GRAHAM LARKIN: Musician and artist working in a variety of mediums with 100% of the sale proceeds of my art go to a small charity I am involved in called Oasis Relief Zambia. For more details of the charity and images of my art, go to my website www.grahamlarkin.gallery

JEAN HOBSON: Painter who has been exploring how cities and towns accommodate the new, often stark technologies alongside the decorative crafts of old build. Through her sensitive pencil drawings, bold prints and vibrant gouache paintings, she has worked to create a record, a living study, of this fast-changing world. https://www.jeanhobson.com/

JO KISBY: I am an artist living and painting in Glossop. I studied Fine Art in 1992 before retraining as a physiotherapist. I continued to paint and sketch as a hobby  and for the past three years have returned to painting professionally. I create commissioned portraits and figurative works in oil and charcoal. https://www.jokisbyart.com

KAREN HEYWOOD: After studying art at Stockport College, Karen attended Leicester College of Art where she was awarded a bursary from the Royal Society of Arts. She has since illustrated over 50 children's books and worked as an animator for Cosgrove Hall Films. Now retired, Karen paints in a variety of media at her Brook Street studio in Glossop. www.karenheywoodartist.co.uk

LYNNE TAYLOR: Hand-built ceramic pots influenced by nature. My work comprises mostly of functional pieces in stoneware. Items are inspired by and created using natural tools foraged from the Peak District and a few beaches visited while travelling. Shells, sticks and pebbles help guide me as I carve, decorate and shape the clay. https://www.facebook.com/organicceramic/
